01 SEO content writing

SEO content writing services, from the plan to the results

Keyword research, a content plan you can see, the writing, and the reporting that shows what it earned. Take just the plan, have me write it, or hand over the whole thing. For businesses, agencies and in-house teams anywhere, writing in English.

  • 24%of a London client’s search clicks came from 25 new pages
  • 11pages in Google’s top ten from one Florida content cluster
  • 11+ yearsplanning and writing content for UK, US and Australian sites

02 The problem

Content without a plan is a pile of posts

Most content programmes fail for the same reason: nobody worked out what to write before writing it.

Topics picked from a calendar

Posts chosen because it’s Tuesday, not because anyone searches for them. They get published and never found.

Posts competing with each other

Three articles on the same question, splitting the clicks between them, and none strong enough to rank.

Nothing points at the page that sells

Guides that bring people in and then leave them there. Traffic goes up; enquiries don’t.

03 Who it’s for

Who hires me for SEO content

Businesses

You sell services or products and want search to bring in customers, not just visitors. You want someone to work out what to write and then get it done.

Fully managed

SEO and marketing agencies

You need the strategy and the production for a client: keyword research, a content plan and the writing, delivered white-label under your name.

Plan and writing

In-house teams with writers

You’ve got people who can write and no plan telling them what to write. The keyword research and content plan give them a year of briefs.

The plan only

Probably not the right fit if

  • you want a fixed number of posts a month regardless of whether they’re worth writing
  • the site is in gambling, betting, alcohol or vaping
  • you need results in weeks: content usually takes months to rank

04 Ways to work together

Take the plan, have it written, or hand it all over

Each option builds on the one before. Most clients start with the plan and one cluster, because it shows results soonest.

Keyword research and content plan

Best for Teams with writers, or anyone who wants to see the plan first

Everything you sell and every page you own, mapped against what people search for. You get a prioritised list of what to write, fix, merge or remove.

  • Keyword research per service or product range
  • A content map and a prioritised plan
  • Briefs for the first pieces

Best for Businesses and agencies who want it written properly

The plan, then the writing, cluster by cluster. Each piece is researched, written, optimised and linked to the pages around it.

  • Everything in the plan
  • Posts and pages written to it
  • Internal links built across each cluster

Fully managed

Best for Businesses who want search handled, month after month

I run the whole programme: the plan, the writing, publishing, updating what’s slipping, and a monthly report tied to clicks and enquiries.

  • Research, writing and publishing
  • Existing posts refreshed as needed
  • Monthly reporting with the source data

How a cluster works

05 What’s included

Everything, including the working

You get the spreadsheets as well as the posts. If we stop working together, you keep the plan.

  • A map of everything you sell and every page you own, with what each one earns now
  • Keyword research per service or product category: main terms, long tail, questions
  • A prioritised plan: what to write, fix, merge or redirect, and in what order
  • Topic clusters that feed the pages that sell, so traffic turns into enquiries
  • Briefs, writing, on-page SEO and internal linking
  • Custom page elements where they help: comparisons, figures, FAQs, product blocks
  • Reporting against the plan, with the Search Console data attached

06 How it works

Research first, then write, then measure

Nothing gets written until it has earned its place in the plan.

  1. 01

    Map what you have

Every page on the site and what it earns in Search Console, and everything you sell.

    You get A content inventory

  2. 02

    Find the demand

Keyword research per service or product range: what people search, how often, and how hard it is to rank.

    You get The keyword research

  3. 03

    Plan the clusters

Group the searches into pages, decide what each page is for, and link every guide to the page that sells.

    You get The content plan

  4. 04

    Write and publish

Cluster by cluster, highest value first. Written, optimised, linked and published, or sent to your team.

    You get Live pages

  5. 05

    Measure and adjust

Track what ranks and what brings enquiries, then refresh what’s slipping and double down on what works.

    You get Monthly reporting

— How the work is done

Best keywords, best research, best content — in that order

Five steps. Each one narrows what came before it, so nothing gets written until it has earned its place. Here it is on a worked example — click through.

Worked example

Find every search that matters

Not the handful of phrases you assume people use — all of them. The obvious ones, the long specific ones, the questions typed as full sentences, and the ones your competitors are already being found for.

A single topic usually turns up forty to sixty real searches. Most businesses are aware of about five of them.

07 For agencies

The strategy and the production, under your name

Agencies use me for the whole content side of an account: the keyword research, the plan and the writing. It arrives in your templates, ready to present.

Ask about agency work
  • White-label research, plans and posts, in your templates
  • I don’t contact your clients unless you want me on a call
  • Keyword research in Ahrefs, exported with the plan
  • US or UK English, matched to each client
  • Invoiced to you, per project or monthly

“I’m a small business owner with a blog on my site that unfortunately contained a lot of outdated and inferior content. I got in touch with Mike and he gave me some great advice initially and made some critical suggestions. From there, he’s been doing some incredible rewrites of my old blogs. They’re far more readable and engaging.”

09 Questions

SEO content writing questions

What is SEO content writing?

Writing pages and posts that answer what people search for, planned so each page can rank for its own set of searches and lead readers to the page that sells.

How much do SEO content writing services cost?

A keyword research and content plan starts from £399 ($499). Posts are priced by depth, from £75 ($99). Fully managed content is part of the retainer, from £999 ($1,299) a month.

What’s the difference between this and blog writing?

Blog writing is the posts themselves. SEO content writing includes the plan behind them, and optionally running the whole programme. If you already know what you want written, blog writing is the simpler option.

How long does SEO content take to work?

Usually months, not weeks. New pages on established sites can rank within weeks; on newer sites it takes longer. The plan puts the pages likely to pay off soonest first.

Can ChatGPT write SEO content?

It can produce text, and Google doesn’t ban AI content. What Google warns against is pages generated at scale without adding value. Content that ranks still needs real research, checked facts and something a reader can’t get elsewhere.

Is SEO content still worth it with AI search?

Yes. Google says there are no extra requirements to appear in AI Overviews beyond normal SEO, and they cite pages that already answer the question well.

Who writes the content?

I do. Nothing is handed to a junior or a content mill, and every statistic is linked to its source.

Do you work with businesses outside English-speaking countries?

Yes, often. Many clients are based elsewhere in Europe or further afield and sell to English-speaking customers. I handle the English-facing side of the site (the research, the content and the technical set-up for those markets) alongside your own team. Prices have a pound and a fixed dollar figure, and I can invoice in either.
